Hindenburg Research, known for its Adani report, closed as founder Nate Anderson seeks peace, personal pursuits, and low-stress investments after completing regulatory work.
New Delhi, Digital Desk (Washington) || Hindenburg Research, the American research and investment firm that made headlines after publishing a report against Indian industrialist Gautam Adani and his group, has closed down. Founder Nate Anderson announced this on Wednesday.
Hindenburg became famous in 2023 after publishing a report accusing the Adani Group companies of stock price manipulation and financial irregularities. Adani Group has denied all allegations.
Founder Nate Anderson said, “I’ve been sharing with my family, friends, and team for months now that I would be closing Hindenburg Research. We would wind down operations after we finish our current projects. We’ve finished our work on Ponzi cases and are sharing the findings with regulators.”
This comes as USA is transitioning power, with President Joe Biden’s term ending and Donald Trump set to be sworn in as the 47th President on January 20.
This comes days after U.S. Rep. Lance Gooden, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, asked the Justice Department to preserve all records related to what he called the Biden administration’s “selective prosecution” of Gautam Adani and his companies.
Anderson explained, “Why close it? There’s no reason—no threat, health issue, or personal problem. Someone once told me that a successful career eventually becomes a selfish act. At first, I felt I had to prove something to myself. Now I want peace.”
He told The Wall Street Journal he wants to pursue hobbies, travel, and spend more time with his fiancée and their kid. He’s saved enough and will do low-stress investments.
