Uttarakhand News: CM Dhami urges support for BJP in upcoming civic polls, highlighting commitment to Backward Classes and key achievements.

New Delhi, Digital Desk || Uttarakhand News: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, on January 20, 2025, addressed an OBC conference in Dehradun, urging the public to support BJP‘s Dehradun Municipal Corporation mayor candidate, Saurabh Thapliyal, along with all BJP councillor candidates in the upcoming civic elections.

During his speech, Dhami emphasized the BJP government’s dedication to the upliftment of backward classes, highlighting that its welfare schemes are benefiting every section of society. He also pointed out that the BJP has implemented substantial measures for the OBC community, including the introduction of OBC reservations in 30 municipal bodies and mayoral posts for the first time since India’s independence.

CM Dhami also listed several government achievements, such as the enforcement of a strict anti-conversion law, actions against land jihad, and the reclamation of over 5,500 acres of encroached land. Additionally, he mentioned that Uttarakhand is on track to become the first state in India to adopt a Uniform Civil Code.

Dhami criticized the Congress party for spreading lies and confusion, urging the public to back the BJP for continued progress.

In addition to his speech, CM Dhami participated in an OBC Sammelan in Niranjanpur, Dehradun, and has been actively campaigning for BJP candidates in the municipal elections. He addressed a public meeting in Rishikesh, rallying support for mayoral candidate Shri Shambhu Paswan and other BJP councillor candidates. Dhami expressed confidence that Rishikesh would again back the BJP, leading to the formation of a “triple engine government” in the upcoming elections.

CM Dhami also participated in a roadshow in Uttarkashi, supporting BJP’s municipal president candidate Kishore Bhatt and other councillor candidates. He reiterated his belief that the BJP would form a triple-engine government in all municipal bodies across the state, given the overwhelming public support.

The State Election Commission of Uttarakhand has officially announced that the Municipal Local Body General Elections for 2024-25 will take place on January 23, with vote counting scheduled for January 25.
