10 Superhit Hindi Blockbusters Adapted from South India Cinema


Over the years, one regional film industry have seen influencing the other parts of the world, and Hindi cinema's are a no exception. Even some of the many mainstream movies highly influences by it's neighboring realms, specially south cinemas.

Directed by Ajay Devgn, Bholaa was adapted from Tamil film Kaithi of 2019.

Akshay Kumar's one of the most celebrated film, De Dana Dan was released in 2009. It was a partial adaptation of the Malayalam Film Vettam Thupakki, 2004.

Bodyguard directed by Siddique. This Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer is the remake of 2010 film under the same name.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa: Starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, it is adapted from the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu (1993).

Drishyam: Directed by Nishikant Kamat, this is a Ajay Devgn starrer crime drama which was a remake version of the original Malayalam film of 2013, under the same name.

Ready: A  Salman Khan and Asin comedy masala film that is the official remake of the 2008 Telugu film of the same name.

Rowdy Rathore: led by Akshay Kumar, it is a 2012 Prabhu Deva directorial. The film is a remake of the 2006 Telugu film Vikramarkudu.

Singham is a Bollywood remake of it's original movie of Tamil film industry released back in 2010, starring Suriya and Anushka Shetty.

Laxmii is a 2023 horror comedy-drama led by Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani. However, it was remade from 2011 Tamil film, Kanchana.

Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 3 was the remake version of tamil action film Vettai 2012.
